Meet your FaRM Success advisors:

Joe Ruddy Headshot

Joe Ruddy

Founder and CEO

Joe Ruddy has spent nearly two decades helping farm families navigate the ups and downs of agricultural markets. After years working in commodity marketing and sales—including his time with Heartland Coop and most recently at Market Wise Ag Services—Joe made a pivotal decision: to put the people behind the farm first.

In winter 2024, Joe stepped away from his role to focus on what he believed was missing in the ag advisory world: a deeper commitment to the experience, values, and long-term success of the farm family itself. That conviction led to the founding of FaRM Success—a company designed to simplify complexity, reduce risk, and help farm families move forward with clarity, courage, and peace of mind.

At FaRM Success, Joe brings not only deep industry knowledge, but a relational approach that prioritizes legacy, trust, and proactive planning. He helps families align their business decisions with what truly matters—healthy relationships and generational stability.

In addition to leading FaRM Success, Joe is also the Director of Grain Origination at Mid Iowa Coop, served on Ankeny City Council and several regional boards dedicated to community development and sustainability. He lives in Ankeny with his wife and two children, and holds business degrees from Purdue University Global.

Bryce Hinkel - Pro Headshot

Bryce Hinkel

Client Advisor

Bryce Hinkel brings a strong foundation in production agriculture, grain marketing, and market knowledge of the ever-changing grain markets to FaRM Success. Backed by a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Iowa State University, Bryce was raised in rural Johnson County, Iowa, where she developed a deep connection to the land and to the families who work it.

After working with Joe at Market Wise Ag Services, Bryce was inspired by his mission to put farmers and their families first. She joined FaRM Success to continue serving producers in a way that prioritizes relationships, simplifies complexity, and supports long-term legacy. Residing in Van Buren County, Iowa, Bryce has built a book of business and served producers for the past five years—guiding them through tough decision-making processes, offering real answers, and delivering clear, actionable solutions.

Whether she’s walking the fields with a client, staking out her next hunt, or spending weekends on the farm or outdoors, Bryce leads with authenticity and grit. She’s not just here to offer smart strategy—she’s here to walk alongside the hands and hearts behind every acre.

Dylan Mathern

Client Experience Team

Dylan was raised in a farming family, and that upbringing shapes how she shows up for every producer FaRM Success serves. She works alongside our advisors on the commodity marketing analysis we deliver to farmers and on the day-to-day details that make the client experience feel steady, reliable, and personal. She believes farm families deserve to be treated like family — and she makes sure that shows up in the work. Dylan understands that the difference between a good firm and a great one rarely shows up in the big moments; it shows up in the small ones. The follow-up call that actually happens. The number that’s right the first time. The note that arrives when a family is celebrating, or grieving, or quietly carrying something heavy. Those are the touchpoints she protects. For the farmers Dylan works with, the FaRM Success experience is built on a simple promise — that they will never be a number, never be a transaction, and never have to wonder whether someone on our team is paying attention to their operation.

Emily Lutz

Business Development Team

Emily grew up around agriculture and brings a deep respect for the work farm families do every day. At FaRM Success, she focuses on helping producers assess risk, protect what they’ve built, and put the right strategies in place to carry their operations into the next generation. For Emily, this work is about more than markets — it’s about building legacies that outlast a single crop year and giving farm families the confidence to plan for what’s next. She knows that every operation she sits across from represents decades of decisions, weather, sweat, and faith — and that the strategies we recommend have to honor that weight. The questions Emily asks aren’t just about acres and bushels. They’re about what each family is trying to build, who they’re trying to build it for, and what they want left standing when the next generation takes the reins. That’s the lens she brings to every conversation, and it’s the reason farm families trust her with the parts of their operation that matter most.

Tanner

Intern (Mid-Iowa Coop & FaRM Success)

Tanner grew up in a farming family and is building his career at the intersection of two perspectives that shape every Iowa producer’s year: the cooperative and the marketing advisor. As an intern with both Mid-Iowa Cooperative and FaRM Success, he’s learning the business from the elevator floor to the marketing desk — and the farmers he supports get the benefit of someone who sees both sides of the conversation. He understands what it looks like when a load crosses the scale, and he understands what that same load represents inside a marketing plan. That dual view is rare, and it’s exactly the kind of grounding that makes for a strong advisor down the road. Tanner brings the work ethic of someone raised around agriculture, the curiosity of someone still learning the craft, and the steady, farmer-first mindset that defines how FaRM Success shows up for every family we serve.
